Profile: Dr. Mordecai Ogada
Country: Kenya

I am a carnivore ecologist who has been involved in conservation work for the last 16 years in Kenya and other parts of Africa, mainly on human-wildlife conflict mitigation and carnivore conservation. My professional work has included research and teaching conservation leadership at Colorado State University. Much of my energy has been devoted to the area of community based conservation, wildlife policy and wetlands ecology. I have worked for over 16 years in the Conservation civil society conservation practice in Kenya.

I currently write and speak mostly on conservation policy and indigenous people’s resource rights. Outside the sphere of conservation, I am a keen hockey player, amateur cartoonist and student of African political history.
