Beth Wanjiku Ndirangu was born with a disability known as cerebral palsy. She holds a Bachelors of Education degree in English and Literature and has been doing voluntary disability advocacy work for the last five years.

Beth is a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow. In January this year Beth, began an organization known as Developmental Disabilities Action which aims to support and collaborate with advocates interested in advancing the rights and quality of life of people living with developmental disabilities.

With support from the US Department of States, Developmental Disabilities Action conducted a civic leadership and advocacy training in disability rights in Murang’a county in May. Beth is currently taking an online course on community-engaged leadership which she hopes will improve her ability to communicate complex ideas across many dimensions of difference (i.e. class, ability, gender, race, etc.)
